George Kelcher

I have always lived locally in North Otago and am firmly committed to the future of the Waitaki District. I served an apprenticeship as a mechanic at Otago Motors/Wrightcars – achieved A Grade Mechanic status. Employed by North Otago Road Metals/Road Metals since 1975, served 25 years as General Manager up to end 2019 – now Special Projects. Director on Whitestone Contracting Ltd Board last six years and re-appointed to end 2028.

I am a team player, listen to all views and look for options outside the square before making balanced decisions.

I believe in retaining local ownership of Network Waitaki and will support this going forward. I believe that the business experience I have gained throughout my working career puts me in a good position to be of benefit to the Waitaki Power Trust and to Network Waitaki Ltd and the wider community as a whole.

Having a vibrant and successful power network provider based locally is and will be of major benefit to all consumers in the Waitaki District.
